Veterans Day will be a little busier in the Appleton area tomorrow.
Outagamie County is hosting its annual ceremony at the administration building in downtown Appleton, at 11 a.m. But there’s an earlier start this year, for the dedication of the recreated Doughboy statue, honoring World War I veterans, on S. Memorial Drive. That ceremony start at 9:30 a.m.
The American Legion Post 38 in Grand Chute is hosting an open house in the afternoon. Spokesman Eric Stadler says they’ll have free food from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and the community will have a chance to learn about the Legion’s various programs. He says people will also be able to talk with veterans and their families.
Stadler says after the Doughboy ceremony in the morning, participants will take part in a procession, from the statue to the Outagamie County administration building.
