A former Howard village board member is going to prison for 12 years for fondling one of his former piano students.
64-year-old James Widiger will also spend 10 years on probation.
A jury convicted Widiger of two counts of the repeated sexual assault of the same child in September. When prosecutors filed charges against Widiger, in March of last year, the girl was 14.
