KATHY KEENE’S TURKEY STRATA, CHEESE STRATA
12 slices bread, crust removed (I use a coarse bread, one with substance)
4 cups milk
8 eggs
1 lb. shredded Cheddar cheese
3 cups cooked, diced turkey
1 tsp. dry mustard
2 tsp. minced onion
¼ cup butter or margarine
2 tsp. salt
Butter a 9×13 inch glass baking pan. Place 6 slices of the bread in bottom of pan side by side. Do not overlap slices. Spread half of the cheese over bread and all of the turkey. Top with remaining 6 slices of bread. Beat eggs, milk and spices; pour over bread and dot with butter. Cover; refrigerate overnight or 8 hours. Add remaining cheese and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
