A group of Kimberly students are working together to build a gathering place for the community.
They’re building a gazebo in the new Memorial Park. It’s all a part of a class where, each year, students build a community-based project.
Junior Elizabeth Schimmers says it’s better than regular school because they get to be hand-on.
Teacher Steven Masanz says their goal is to teach the students real-world skills and work ethic. He says they’re graded by showing up on time, working the entire shift, and communicating with others.
They plan to finish the gazebo by the end of the semester, January 19th
