Prosecutors are charging a 32-year-old Green Bay man with murder in the death of his three-week-old son.
They say Jeremiah Thomas appeared distraught when police went to his apartment on Moraine Way, on the city’s west side, on Monday. They say an autopsy showed the child had several skull fractures, along with broken ribs and legs. He died from brain swelling.
Green Bay Police Commander James Runge says Thomas initially told police he smothered the boy, in a possible co-sleeping death. But prosecutors say he changed his story when he was confronted with the autopsy results.
Thomas is in custody on a $250,000 bond, on a charge of first-degree intentional homicide.
