The second suspect in an incident at Appleton East High School last April found out his fate this morning.
Seventeen-year-old Tou Thao of the Wausau area was sentenced to two years on probation. Outagamie County Judge John Des Jardins also gave him eight months in jail, and ruled that he should be released for time served.
Prosecutors say Thao and 22-year-old old Blong Vang of Wausau wanted to retaliate against a specific student. They say Vang had two guns in his car, in the school parking lot. They say a school resource officer saw the two suspects in the school, and didn’t recognize them.
Both of them entered a no contest plea to a charge of conspiracy to commit child abuse. Vang was sentenced to three years in prison by Judge Vince Biskupic.
Thao could go back to jail for four months, if he violates his probation.
