A 29-year-old woman entered a no contest plea to helping the suspect in a shooting at a downtown Appleton bar.
Prosecutors say Dree Sullivan took the gun from her boyfriend, and hid it under her vehicle outside of Jack’s Apple Pub last May.
She was convicted of a felony charge of aiding a felon in Outagamie County court this morning. Sullivan could face up to 10 years in prison when she’s sentenced in April.
Thirty-three-year-old Henry Nellum of Milwaukee is charged with firing a shot at a man during a fight. Investigators say Appleton Police Lt. Jay Steinke ran into the bar, and started firing at Nellum. They say Steinke hit a bystander, 33-year-old Jimmy Sanders of Milwaukee, and Sanders died.
They say Steinke was being pushed by people who were trying to get out of the bar, and prosecutors cleared him of any criminal charges.
Nellum is currently scheduled to stand trial in August, on charges that include felony murder for the death of Sanders.
