A 17-year-old boy is going to prison for 3-1/2 years for his role in a Grand Chute murder.
Elian Coronado entered no contest pleas to possessing a gun as a felon, and selling marijuana, in March. He was sentenced in Outagamie County court this morning.
Twenty-year-old Benjamin Graves was shot and killed at a duplex in the 600 block of S. Olson Avenue last September.
Prosecutors say it was a drug deal gone bad. They say Coronado and 19-year-old Trevor Teela were trying to sell drugs to Graves and another man.
Teela reached a plea deal with prosecutors on Tuesday to avoid a murder trial. He entered a no contest plea to charges of second-degree reckless homicide and selling marijuana. Teela’s scheduled to be sentenced in June.
Coronado will also spend 4-1/2 years on probation. If he gets into trouble, he could go to jail for 12 months.
