A state agency is confident that it will deal with the issues at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute in Oshkosh.
Federal regulators are threatening to pull the facility’s Medicare contract after they issued 48 citations last December and in February.
The Department of Health Services runs the facility. The agency released a statement saying it welcomes and appreciates the actions and oversight of regulators so deficiencies can be identified and corrected.
Regulators could terminate the Medicare contract in July if the problems aren’t fixed.
