The man convicted of causing a deadly standoff in downtown Neenah will find out today how many years he’ll spend in prison.
A jury found 48-year-old Brian Flatoff guilty of all 14 charges against him after a trial in March. Winnebago County Judge John Jorgenson will hand down Flatoff’s sentence in a hearing that’s scheduled to start this morning.
Flatoff went to Eagle Nation Cycles in December of 2015 in a dispute over a motorcycle. He took people hostage and had a shootout with Neenah police. Hostage Michael Funk was shot and killed by two Neenah police officers while he was trying to escape. Funk had a gun when he ran outside the building.
Flatoff was convicted of felony murder for Funk’s death.
