Wisconsin’s two U.S. Senators are split on President Trump’s nominee to lead the CIA.
Republican Sen. Ron Johnson of Oshkosh voted for Gina Haspel’s appointment. Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin of Madison opposed Haspel.
She says Haspel’s refusal to call torture “immoral” is disqualifying. Johnson says the world is a dangerous place, and Haspel has the experience needed to keep the country safe.
The Senate confirmed Haspel’s appointment.
