People have until tonight, if they haven’t applied for the $100 per child state tax credit yet.
The signup period started in late May. A child had to be under 18 at the end of last year. The person applying also had to claim the child as a dependant on their 2017 taxes.
Department of Revenue Secretary Rick Chandler says they’ll be taking phone calls at the department, until 7 p.m. today. He says the deadline to apply on the department’s website is midnight.
Chandler says they’ve received more than 500,000 claims so far, and they estimate about 670,000 could be received, if all eligible people applied.
The phone number to apply is 608-266-KIDS (5437).
