Fundraising efforts have been set up for those impacted by an explosion in Sun Prairie.
Police say a contractor hit a natural gas main Tuesday, and that led to the explosion.
The explosion killed a firefighter, injured 12 people, and leveled multiple structures.
Capt. Cory Barr was a 10-year member of the Sun Prairie fire department and also owned a bar on Main Street that was heavily damaged, The Barr House.
His wife says she couldn’t have asked for a better husband.
Abby Barr, released a statement Wednesday afternoon saying he had been a firefighter for 15 years and was the “best husband a girl could ask for.”
She says he lived his life by the motto “happy wife, happy life.” The couple was raising a pair of twin girls who just turned 3. She says the girls would run up to him screaming “Daddy’s home!” whenever he walked through the door.
