The Building for Kids in downtown Appleton will be closed for three weeks next month for renovations.
The children’s museum will be shut down from Labor Day to September 24th.
Spokeswoman Katy Compton says they typically do that for a short time every year for routine maintenance. She says they usually close for one week, but this year it’s three weeks. She says it’s because of the amount of work that needs to be done. Compton says some exhibits are already closed because the work on those will take even longer.
Compton says the upgrades are part of the celebration of the museum’s 25th anniversary. She says over the three years of work they’ll spend about $2.5 million.
