Democrats are bringing back their lawsuit over Republican-drawn political boundaries, after the U.S. Supreme Court decided not to take up the case earlier this summer.
A dozen voters filed the initial challenge, arguing Republicans unconstitutionally consolidated their power. A three-judge panel agreed, and the state Justice Department appealed to the highest court.
Justices said the plaintiffs lacked standing to sue on a statewide basis. The updated lawsuit includes 28 more Democrats from different parts of the state.
