Fox Crossing’s suspended municipal judge is pleading not guilty in a stalking case.
Sixty-five-year-old Len Kachinsky entered the plea to charges of felony stalking and violating a restraining order. He was also ordered to stand trial, after he waived his preliminary hearing this morning.
Kachinsky was arrested in July, after his court clerk made accusations against him. The clerk got a restraining order against Kachinsky in February, after detailing a series of incidents that dated back to April of last year. Winnebago County prosecutors accuse Kachinsky of violating that order twice.
After his arrest, the Wisconsin Judicial Commission suspended Kachinsky.
He was Brendan Dassey’s attorney when the then 16-year-old Dassey gave a confession to the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach. Kachinsky was highlighted on the Netflix series “Making a Murderer.”
