Prosecutors are charging a father with his young daughter’s death, in a crash on Highway 45 in Winnebago County.
Ten-year-old Kherington Brownell of Lancaster, Ohio was killed in August in the town of Winneconne, while she was visiting her father. Prosecutors say 58-year-old Steven Brownell was drinking before the rollover crash near Highway 116.
He’s facing charges of first-degree reckless homicide and homicide by driving drunk.
Sheriff’s deputies say witnesses reported Steven was driving erratically and speeding. They say he was flown to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Steven’s son, 13-year-old Kage Brownell of Lancaster, was treated at a hospital for serious injuries.
