There’s a race for an Assembly seat that covers parts of Neenah, Grand Chute, and Fox Crossing.
Republican Representative Mike Rohrkaste of Neenah faces a challenge from Democrat Dan Schierl of Clayton in the 55th district.
Rohrkaste believes he’s had a positive influence in the Legislature. He says state finances are in good shape and he wants to continue that. He says he also wants to keep working on healthcare, elder care and worker shortages in the state.
Schierl says he’s running in part because there were no other candidates. He says he wants people in the district to have a choice. Schierl says he wants to get outside money out of campaigns and consider legalizing marijuana at least for medicinal purposes.
The election is November 6th.
