The Kaukauna man charged in connection with the death of an Oshkosh man refused to come to a court hearing this morning.
Court records show 34-year-old Christopher Barry was supposed to be in Winnebago County court for a preliminary hearing. He’s charged with aggravated battery.
47-year-old Steven Mallas died on October 12th several days after he broke his jaw when he was hit outside of a bar on the east side of Oshkosh. Prosecutors say Barry hit him over money that Mallas was accused of stealing at Boots Saloon.
Barry is in custody and prosecutors are asking to reschedule the hearing.
