One of President Trump’s advisors was supposed to be in Appleton yesterday to support the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate.
State Senator Leah Vukmir is challenging Democratic U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin in next Tuesday’s election. Vukmir’s campaign says White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway’s plane had mechanical problems so she couldn’t make an event at the Outagamie County Republican Party headquarters.
Vukmir says they need to change immigration laws. She says she’s a daughter of immigrants who went through the legal process of becoming a citizen. She says she agrees with President Trump about building a wall and securing the country’s borders.
Vukmir is a former nurse and she says health care is also a big issue.
