For the first time in at least a decade, the candidates in the 8th Congressional District won’t face-off in a head-to-head debate. Voters got the next best thing on Fresh Take when Republican Congressman Mike Gallagher appeared on the show, followed immediately by Democratic challenger Beau Liegeois.
Both candidates addressed the lack of a debate, and the larger political climate around the contest, then shared their views on healthcare, immigration, federal spending and debt, among other topics.
