Governor-elect Tony Evers says he’s already preparing for the transition to his new job.
Governor Walker conceded defeat yesterday afternoon. Evers later talked with reporters in Madison. He says they’ll be releasing information about the transition team soon. He says they’ve been talking about this for a long time and have a good plan going forward.
Evers says he reached out to the Republican leaders of the Legislature, Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald. Evers says Walker was very gracious when they talked yesterday. He says Walker offered to have staff help to make it a smooth transition.
