A 34-year-old Kaukauna man will stand trial in the beating of an Oshkosh man.
Christopher Barry is charged with aggravated battery. He was in Winnebago County court for a preliminary hearing this morning.
Barry’s accused of hitting 47-year-old Steven Mallas, several days before Mallas died. Prosecutors say Mallas had a broken jaw, and that helped lead to his death.
They say Barry attacked him over money that Mallas was accused of stealing at Boots Saloon on Oshkosh’s east side.
The hearing was originally scheduled for several weeks ago, but Barry refused to go to court.
