The leader of a Green Bay Girl Scout troop who organized a vigil for three Girl Scouts and a mother who were killed while picking up trash is out.
Liz Steffel was permanently suspended from her role yesterday by the Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes Council.
Co-troop leader Richard Schultz believes Steffel was let go because of the unsanctioned fundraiser.
He says Steffel hand-delivered cash donations directly to the affected families and did not give money raised to the Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes Council.
Three fourth-grade Girl Scouts and a mother were killed in western Wisconsin, when they were hit by an out-of-control driver.
