A judge ordered a trial for an Appleton man accused of a hit-and-run in the downtown.
43-year-old James Hutcherson appeared in court for a preliminary hearing today. He’s accused of hitting a 21-year-old Lawrence University student as she was crossing College Avenue at Lawe Street in October. Investigators say police received a tip after releasing video of the incident and that led to Hutcherson’s arrest. They say the woman spent several days at a hospital for a head injury.
Hutcherson is facing a charge of causing great bodily harm in a hit-and-run crash. He was bound over for trial yesterday. He’s scheduled to be back in court for an arraignment on January 10th.
