Governor Walker says he’s not going to take action on the lame duck bills Republicans passed in a special session more than a week ago until something is done about about Kimberly-Clark.
Walker says the hope is that they’ll quickly figure out the Kimberly-Clark situation and then move on to the lame-duck bills.
Walker wanted the Senate to approve a set of tax incentives, approved by the Assembly, that would keep the company’s Cold Spring plant in Fox Crossing open. The issue didn’t come up before members because Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says they didn’t have the votes to pass it.
Walker says keeping the company and jobs in Wisconsin could be the last thing he does as governor.
