Colleges and universities across America are seeing declining enrollment. Economic and demographic trends, political tensions, low unemployment and other factors influence the choice of young adults to pursue higher education or get a job. Some campuses are looking to foreign countries to make up for the lack of domestic applicants, but from 2016 to 2017 the number of international students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs fell too.
Despite these trends, UW-Fox Valley actually saw the number of international students on campus go up from 22 in 2017 to 76 in 2018. How did they accomplish that, and what are they doing to ensure these students succeed?
