The lawyer for Steven Avery wants to test some bones found in a gravel pit, to see if they belong to Teresa Halbach.
Attorney Kathleen Zellner filed a motion this afternoon, announcing that a scientist is agreeing to do the test, called Rapid DNA ID. She says the technology debuted in June of this year, and it’s been approved by the FBI.
Zellner believes Halbach was murdered at a gravel pit, and her bones were moved to the Avery family’s property to frame Steven Avery.
Separate juries convicted Avery and his nephew, Brendan Dassey, of killing Halbach.
