Some numbers are out from Small Business Saturday, and a local organizer says the one-day event was a huge hit.
Heather Wessley is with Fox Communities Credit Union. She says close to 200 small businesses around Appleton, Green Bay, and the Heart of the Valley took part. She says a number of them reported having the best day in their history.
Wessley says many businesses do something unique, and offer a passport as a way for customers to keep track of the stores they went to, and qualify for prizes. She says about 1,000 passports were turned in last year, and that number jumped to over 1,600 this year.
She says about 200 shoppers won around $7,500 worth of prizes.
Small Business Saturday was November 24th.
