A U.S. Senator from Oshkosh is reacting to President Trump’s decision to pull troops out of Syria.
Republican Senator Ron Johnson says the vice president briefed them on the plan, and there was strong push back from Republican senators.
Trump tweeted yesterday morning that the county has defeated ISIS in Syria. Johnson says that’s not accurate.
Republican Congressman Mike Gallagher of Green Bay says he’s afraid the U.S. will regret a hasty retreat. He says he’s also worried about the growing Russian military presence in Syria.
The withdrawal of more than 2,000 U.S. troops is expected to happen as quickly as possible.
