A local non-profit is remodeling part of the home of an Oshkosh veteran.
Bob Hearn served in Vietnam and was injured when he was thrown from a lookout tower. He broke his feet in multiple places. Hearn and his wife have lived in their home over 40 years. He says it’s getting harder for him to climb the stairs to do laundry.
Hearn says eight steps doesn’t seem like much, but it is when you’re injured.
Hearn’s daughter contacted Salute the Troops. The group is remodeling a room Hearn previously used for storage into a new laundry room. Workers plan to have the room finished by this weekend.
