Today and heading into tomorrow could be the busiest time to travel during the holiday season.
Nick Jarmusz of AAA Wisconsin is making that prediction. He says if people leave this evening, they’ll also find drivers on the road heading home from work. He says the return home should be a little less congested, because people will stagger their travel days.
Jarmusz says about 2.3 million people in the state will hit the road at some point during the 12-day holiday stretch. That’s up about five percent from last year. He says they expect a similar increase in air travel, nationwide.
