It costs less than $2 for a gallon of gas at many stations around the Fox Cities.
Prices haven’t been at that level in three years. And it’s only the second time it’s happened since 2009.
Erin Roth of the Wisconsin Petroleum Council says crude oil prices continue to drop, because demand is down around the world. He says the cost of crude oil accounts for about 60 percent of the cost of gas.
Roth says most analysts believe crude oil prices will rebound in 2019, depending on what OPEC does.
Gas prices were about 40 cents higher at this time last year.
