Kaukauna firefighters say a house on the south side is most likely a total loss after a fire yesterday.
It happened in the 300 block of West 10th Street around 11:30 a.m.
Lieutenant Joe Resch says when crews got there, there was smoke coming from the second story and flames on the first floor.
Resch says crews put out most of the flames on the first floor from the inside. He says the ceiling had started to fall and the stairwell to the second floor was damaged. He says that forced them to attack the fire from the outside.
Resch says the damage estimate is $100,000. He says no one was home and the fire most likely had been burning for at least a couple hours.
Investigators believe an electrical problem caused the fire.
