Two fishermen were rescued from the Bay of Green Bay early yesterday morning after ice broke away.
The Illinois men were on a chunk of ice about 300 yards from Volk’s Landing on Edgewater Beach Road.
The call came in around 1:30 a.m.
This is the second ice rescue off Volk’s Landing this month. On December 18th more than a dozen fishermen were rescued after ice broke away and they drifted from shore.
The fishermen say they were caught off guard by a change in wind direction.
