A local company is talking about how it will help fund the Bay Beach restoration in Green Bay using old cell phones.
Cellcom is giving $100,000 toward the project.
Chief Innovation Officer Brighid Riordan says they take the phones to a recycling company and get money back. She says they’ve given it back to the community through green initiatives. Riordan says they also put some aside for a bigger project that would benefit the community. She says Bay Beach fits Cellcom’s goal.
Riordan says they’re donating money from old phones collected through February toward that project. She says people can drop off phones at Cellcom locations.
