Firefighters evacuated one of Mercury Marine’s plants in Fond du Lac this morning because of a fire in the dust collection system.
Crews went to Plant 17 on Pioneer Road around 10:15 a.m. It’s a couple of blocks east of the company’s main building along I-41.
They say there was heavy smoke coming from the dust collection container on the outside of the building. They used a special substance to put out the fire because of the materials that were in the container.
No one was hurt. There wasn’t any damage to the plant itself.
