Both of the Republicans representing Northeast Wisconsin in Congress say they support building the wall but can’t predict how soon a deal might be reached to reopen the government.
Eighth District Congressman Mike Gallagher of Green Bay says it seems like both sides are getting more dug in and hopes now that lawmakers are back from holiday break conversation can start in earnest.
Congressman Glenn Grothman of Glenbulah represents the sixth district.
He says Republicans have to do a better job of selling the wall.
He says they have to talk about the huge amounts of heroin coming across the border and the free health care that illegal immigrants get that are paid by Americans.
