A professional women’s basketball team would play in Oshkosh from May to August.
That’s one of the few details that are currently available on the team that’s expected to be coming to the Menominee Nation Arena.
Arena President Greg Pierce says the team will start playing this year. He says it’s too soon to talk about what league the team will play in, and other details. He expects they’ll be able to do that in the next several weeks.
Pierce says the team is a good fit because the season is during the slower time of the year for arena events.
The arena is asking for help naming the team. There are five options that people can pick from on the Menominee Nation Arena’s Facebook page.
