A non-profit received $100,000 from workers and the owners of WOW Logistics.
The company partnered with Rise Together in 2017. The group educates young people about issues like mental health, drug abuse, and bullying.
Co-founder Anthony Alvarado says the money helped them reach over 25,000 kids in the northeast Wisconsin area. He says it takes the financial expectations away from public schools, that often have limited budgets. He says it also puts the responsibility in the hands of partners and corporations.
The $100,000 was raised over 2018. Most of the money has already been spent on things like school programs, special events, and supporting online initiatives. WOW Logistics is planning to raise more money for this year.
