Outagamie County’s longtime sheriff is now retired.
The transfer of power from Sheriff Brad Gehring to new Sheriff Clint Kriewaldt officially took place at midnight. Gehring led the department for 28 years and he was a deputy for seven years before that.
Gehring is looking back on his time as sheriff like the changes in the department, the cases they’ve had, and the programs they’ve hosted. He says there’s been a lot of growth over the 28 years.
Gehring is a master gardener and he says he’ll have some projects to work on once spring comes. Until then he says he’ll try to figure out what his next challenge will be.
