The leader of a realty group says the local housing market hasn’t felt the impact of the federal government shutdown yet.
Some Democratic lawmakers are expressing concerns about families getting approved for mortgages.
Judd Stevenson is the president of the Realtors Association of Northeast Wisconsin. He says the Department of Housing and Urban Development is one of the agencies that’s closed. He say the HUD’s contingency plan says the Federal Housing Administration will endorse new loans until the shutdown is over.
Stevenson says the shutdown shouldn’t stop buyers from looking for the right house. He says the process might just take a little longer than usual.
