A Republican lawmaker says a bill he’s working on would protect pre-existing conditions in the state.
Sen. Andre Jacque of De Pere is asking his colleagues to co-sponsor his proposal. He says it would take the three protection components of the federal health care reform law, and put them into state law.
Jacque says it would ensure people wouldn’t be paying more than anyone else, and that all of their conditions would be covered.
Jacque says Wisconsin would become one of five states in the country to keep all three elements of the federal law in place, if the federal law would be overturned.
