A Republican lawmaker from Fond du Lac is asking for the small “Open for Business” signs that were taken off the “Welcome to Wisconsin” signs at the state’s borders.
Former Governor Walker put them there after taking office in 2011 because they were one of his slogans for the state. Assistant Senate Majority Leader Dan Feyen calls their removal “troubling” and he says the signs should be reused.
Traditionally the name of the current governor is placed on the bottom of the sign. The change was made after Governor Evers took office.
