Kimberly-Clark is laying out its plans for closing the Neenah Nonwovens plant.
The company notified the state Department of Workforce Development that about 74 workers will be impacted. Their positions will start to be eliminated in mid-to-late March, until the plant shuts down around the end of May.
Kimberly-Clark announced plans nearly a year ago to shut down the facility, along with the Cold Spring plant in Fox Crossing. The state offered incentives to save the Cold Spring facility.
Neenah Mayor Dean Kaufert says Kimberly-Clark officials made it clear early on that it was a business decision to close the Neenah Nonwovens facility, and it wouldn’t be included in the tax incentives package.
When the closure was announced, about 110 people were working at Neenan Nonwovens.
