A 35-year-old Clintonville man is accused of demanding a ransom for a teenage girl he was holding in a motel room.
Elijah Kerrigan is facing 11 charges in Waupaca County, including kidnapping, sexual assault of a child, and possession of child pornography.
Prosecutors say authorities started searching for the missing girl one week ago. They say the victim’s mother received a text message, claiming her daughter would die, unless she paid $2,500.
Clintonville police say they found Kerrigan and the girl in a Clintonville motel room later that day, along with meth and marijuana.
Prosecutors say the victim’s family knew Kerrigan.
