Governor Evers says he’s going to fight for the federal expansion of Medicaid, despite the stance of Majority Republicans in the Legislature.
The Democratic governor had a rare meeting with GOP lawmakers from the Assembly and Senate this morning.
Even though Republicans told him it’s a “non-starter,” Evers says he has the backing of people across the state and in the medical field.
Former Republican Governor Scott Walker rejected the federal expansion in 2014.
