A Republican from Oshkosh is reacting to a report that notes weren’t kept during a meeting between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson says he’s not concerned about The Washington Post article. He says the president is vested with a great deal of power by the Constitution. He says even if notes were taken, they would be so highly classified that most members of Congress wouldn’t be allowed to see them.
Johnson says he hasn’t talked with the president about it. But he says he wouldn’t blame him for being secretive, or a little less open, since he’s been burned by leaks in the past.
Johnson was a guest on Fresh Take with Josh Dukelow on WHBY this morning.
