After the Jayme Closs case some local police departments are looking to change how they respond to child abductions.
Green Bay Captain Jeremy Muraski says they’re always evaluating their protocols based on actual events. He says he was stunned to learn Closs heard sirens while she was in the trunk of her kidnapper’s vehicle. He says that emphasizes how seconds matter. He says they’re looking at how they can carve time away from the initial response.
Muraski says in the past they only took reports of missing children by phone. He says now they go to the home to get more information and possibly photographs.
