Governor Evers will give his first State of the State address tonight.
Lawrence University political science professor Arnold Shober expects the Democrat Evers will reach out to Majority Republicans in the Legislature. He says one of the places he could earn some points is to talk about the division in Washinton D.C. He says Evers could say he doesn’t want that in the state, and that politicians should work together on issues like roads.
Shober says the speech is Evers’ chance to set the tone for the next two years at the Capitol.
You can hear the State of the State speech live on WHBY tonight. It’s scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.
